Bill’s coupe started its life down in the heart of Texas at Bruce’s Rod Shop. Many of the ideas Bill had for the coupe were tackled on Cemetery Road. Bruce and son Danny built the chassis and mounted the body, created the exhaust and more.
The final details were completed at SO-Cal Speed Shop under the watchful eye of Pete Chapouris. The car was sent to the Kennedy brothers, Joe and Jay, for the 2 ½” chop. Mick Jenkins and crew handled the body and paint, Art Chrisman built the S.C.O.T-blown Ardun-equipped flathead, backed up by a Tremec 5-speed transmission. Naturally, a Halibrand quick change diverts the power to billet replicas of Bill’s magnesium “Indy Speedster” wheels by Curtis Speed Wheel—a touch to “brother up” the two cars.
Another beautiful car built by the talented SO-Cal crew: Robin Silk, Ryan Reed, Mike Blondell, Richie Noguiera, the Veazie twins, “Moose” Hutchinson and Shine.
